Kim was the only victim where it was positively known there was a sexual assault.  Kim's body was found the day

after her disappearance unlike the others who were found from more than a week to months after their disappearances.

The place where her body was found was in southeast Santa Rosa.  The others were found in the northern area.

Epilogue

Kim was survived by her mother and father, a sister and brother.  Her parents were

divorced at the time of her death and lived on opposite sides of the Bay Area.

Update

I recently (May 2011) spoke to John Bly, one of the people who found Kim Allen's body. I wanted to get
a better idea of the circumstances surrounding where and how Kim was found.

I learned from John that there were actually three people who found her body. John, his girlfriend and another friend were out
riding on two motorcycles. The three decided to pull over for a rest as they were heading north on their way home after a bike
ride that took them around the back roads of east Sonoma County. They pulled over on the shoulder of the narrow road. There
was no turnout but just enough room along the side of the road for the motorcycles to park, about a three-foot wide shoulder.

John wandered a few feet from where they were parked and looked over the side of the steep embankment. It was then that he
spotted Kim's body. It would have been very hard to spot from a car just driving by. John told me that it was not at a creek bed
as is stated in some of the reports. He also told me that Kim was not at the bottom of the embankment but about midway down
and she seemed to be caught on shrubbery growing there. There was a lot of undergrowth at the bottom of the embankment and
it seemed to John that if the killer had wanted to hide Kim's body he could have easily done so.

John walked a little ways around to go down towards Kim to see if possibly she might still be alive. He took care not to go
directly down the embankment. He did not notice any footprints that would have been left if someone had carried Kim to place
her where she was found. He was able to determine that Kim was deceased from a few feet away because of the unnatural
position of her neck. He did not touch Kim or disturb the scene in anyway. John observed that there were bruises on Kim's neck
but he did not see any bruising on her wrists or ankles. He did say that it was a surreal situation and he just may not have
noticed the condition of her wrists and ankles.

At that point John and his fellow riders knew they needed to call the sheriff's department. John took off north on his bike
and stopped at the nearest house about half a mile away while the other two stayed with Kim's body. The resident at the
home phoned the sheriff and described the location to them for John as John was not exactly certain where they were on
Enterprise Road.

Once the authorities arrived they were each briefly questioned by law enforcement and they left not long afterwards. There
was no further contact with the sheriff's department. They were not asked to come to the department and sign statements.

The following report is from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and it was done at the time
law enforcement was looking at Ted Bundy as a possible suspect for the murders of the young women.
